Sport Disciplines
The European Day of Integrated sport foresees eleven sport disciplines. Eight of them are individual ones: wheelchair fencing, integrated dance, integrated horse riding, integrated table tennis, integrated judo, integrated karate, integrated bowshot and TrioAgility dog. Three of them are team disciplines: integrated football, integrated 5-a-side and baskin (integrated basket). Competitions, for both individual and team sport disciplines, will be characterized by having disabled and non disabled athletes compete jointly and at the end there will be an integrated list of results for each discipline. Non competitive sport performances, also with the joint participation of disabled and non disabled athletes, will provide demonstrations of integrated sport disciplines in order to promote sport as social inclusion and integration factor. In every venue of the event a giant screen will be set up. This will show images of the activities being carried out simultaneously in the other venues with the participation of European athletes, with a special focus on both the event start and the final prize-giving. In every venue the event start will be marked by a symbolic gesture (as for example the lighting of the Olympic torch) while the final prize-giving will be accompanied by a video on integrated sport.
